The U.S. already has asylum systems for people in countries that were hurt by its intervention. Also for political, religious, and other types of refugees. We don’t, and shouldn’t, take in random people just because it’s the “human” thing to do. What about the natives of the country? Where’s the concern for what they’ll have to deal with?

The U.S. has always had a meritocratic immigration system. It’s one of the reasons this country is great. We have no obligation to accept all immigrants immigrants at an expense of the common folk.
